Day 38 VLCD - Another great day!

Round 1
Date started – October 8th, 2007
Starting Weight – 267 lbs
Weight today – 238 lbs
Weight loss today – 1.5 lbs
Weight loss yesterday – 2 lbs
Weight loss since beginning – 29 lbs

I'm shocked! I never lose well two days in a row! Well maybe at the very beginning, but that was still rare!

Looking back on the last 37 days, my body has really resisted letting go of all this weight. A lot of the weight gain came after 2 serious bouts of pneumonia, and I wonder if that has anything to do with it. It's been almost impossible to lose any weight for at least 5 years. I'm always strict on a diet. I figure if I screw it up, I only have myself to blame if it doesn't work out. This time has been no different. I haven't cheated, I've done everything I can to do it "right", but still, I was a bit of a slow loser. I just accepted it, and kept moving forward. It was still better than ANYTHING I had done, by a long shot.

One more pound, and I'll be down 30 pounds. I really can't believe it. I don't think that has set in, yet. I'm so automated now, as to what to do, I don't even really think about it anymore. And many days, the scale has not been kind. I take as long as possible to get on it, whereas I used to jump out of bed and right on the scale (after peeing and stripping, of course ;) )

I have a game plan for phase 3, because as I've stated, I like to do things right! BUT, I'm terrified. There is such a feeling of "what if it doesn't work?" isn't there? I've watched so many of you go through the ups and downs these past couple of weeks, that you think I'd be prepared, and I guess I am, but can you ever really be prepared? It's such a trial and error process! I think I've got about 4 or 5 days of Hcg left, and then I'll be entering this new and scary territory. (Just in time for many of you P3'ers to be back on P2!) I think that's why I'm psyching myself out. Thanks to all of you that have been posting your P3 ups and downs. You have no idea how helpful it is. When I gain, I'll remember your experiences and, hopefully, calm down.

Ok, enough obsessing.. and procrastinating! Hope you're all having a great day! If you get a chance, check out B's blog. She is starting today! Good luck B!!

Cheryl :)

You'll do great! It's important to remember that P3 can be full of "wild fluctuations" -- the body needs to regain some equilibrium.

So, after having no hcg in my system for a few days I finally took some sublingual yesterday, and then my usual shot today. My bladder pain got excruciating. I got a huge glass of water and added a tablespoon of baking soda, as per your suggestion. It kicked in within 15 minutes. I just kept downing more water. So, I want to thank you again. I'm concerned about the sodium in the baking soda making me retain water weight -- what do you think? Obviously I'll try and do it in smaller amounts, a 1/2 to 1 tsp throughout the day.

Thanks so much for your support, Lili. I appreciate it!! I'm sure I'll be asking a ton of questions once I'm there... probably panicked ones hehe :)

I'm not sure if the sodium in the baking soda will affect you. 1 tablespoon of baking soda has approximately the same amount of sodium as 1 1/2 tsp of regular table salt (depending on your brand of baking soda!) I think you should drop down to 1/2 a tsp in water first thing in the morning (before anything) and if you feel that isn't enough, take another half tsp at bedtime. (both on an empty stomach is best!)

I think if the baking soda helps your bladder, it's going to be essential to your success. If you find you're bloated, you might want to start drinking dandelion tea or some other natural diuretic to flush out any excess sodium. (asparagus is also a natural diuretic)

If you think about it, a "low sodium" diet is usually around 1200 mg of sodium a day! So, you might be fine. I guess just try it and see! Good luck! :)

Congratulations on another FABULOUS loss! sooo close to 30!!! I'm rooting for you all the way!

Do you think you lose better with certain times of month? I haven't noticed with myself (but wasn't paying attention!). I'm watching Wendy's dramatic changes & it's pretty interesting. Thanks for posting your success!

Thanks Amy! Thanks for rooting for me!!

I don't know if time of the month changes weight loss. I was lucky (insert sarcastic tone) to go through 2 periods this round. I lost through my period the first time, but didn't so much this time BUT am losing more after. Maybe it balances out? I just hope it keeps going!! :)

Congrats girlfriend! That is an amazing loss rate! You should be very proud of yourself. :D I know we are proud of you!

Okay so about the P3 complaints from me...sorry if I scared you in any way. I sometines just "vent" and forget who reads these posts sometimes. BUT you are strong and have been 100% faithful to the plan so you should be fine. I dont think you retain water like I do either so you at least have that on your side.

But P3 is what it is. My body, I feel, did not stay on P2 long enough due to my injection and hunger issues. I really, looking back, should have fought the hunger for a longer period of time. (at least a few more days)

But at least I am not gaining/losing 5+ pounds at a time anymore! That is a good sign for me. I am fluctuating at a more normal rate.

Enjoy your P3 hon!

Crystal :D

Hey Crystal! Don't stop posting your complaints! They actually help more than the positive ones! hehe (Although I'm so happy for you when things are going good!!) I just know that when I'm gaining, or retaining water, I'll remember what you went through and I'll be able to say "this happens".

I have a feeling you'll have a much less hard time on your second p3.. are you going right through Christmas? It seems like the girls who have gone through a P2 and a P3 already are really stabilizing, no matter what!

Thanks for the congrats, I'm going to miss P2! :)
